Finding Balance and Belonging at Stone & Bridges

What Makes Stone & Bridges a Rewarding Place to Work?

With a career spanning from copywriting to customer service, from bookstores to Netflix, Floris brings a wealth of experience to his role at Stone & Bridges. As we celebrated his one year anniversary working with us, we asked Floris to reflect on his first year and discuss how the company’s inclusive culture and sincere interest in each employee creates a work environment where everyone feels valued and respected.

What drew you to join the team at Stone & Bridges?

From the beginning I knew something was different about this company. There were many factors that drew me to Stone & Bridges but the one that stands out the most is the pleasant and personable way of communicating. Right from the start I noticed the sincere interest they have in you. Not just as an employee but as a person.

What makes Stone & Bridges different from other companies you’ve worked for?

In one word: Involvement. At other companies you can sometimes feel like you are one of many. That is definitely not the case at Stone & Bridges. Everybody is equally important and that makes it a unique place to work.

How would you describe the company culture at Stone & Bridges?

There are high expectations from everyone on the team. But there is also a sense of community and support from everyone in the company. In short: Work hard and at the highest level but at the same time have fun and remember that you do it together.

What is it like working with such a diverse team at Stone & Bridges?

Working in such an international team with so many different nationalities is very interesting and stimulating. I think that’s because people from different countries and backgrounds have different opinions, insights and views. The special thing about Stone & Bridges is all views are all respected and valued.

How does Stone & Bridges support work-life balance for its employees?

What is a big support to work-life balance is the fact that you can work partly at the office and partly at home. At the office it's great to have a good interaction with your colleagues. Whilst working from home gives you the pleasant feeling from working in your home environment. As far as I'm concerned, this hybrid formula is a perfect mix that really does support and promote a healthy work-life balance.

What do you like to do when you’re not working?

When I'm not working I like to spend time on my Etsy shop selling second hand Swatch watches. Other hobbies of mine include playing tennis and going to the movies.

What advice would you give to someone considering a career at Stone & Bridges?

I would advise them to be open to all the new things that they will learn. Especially in the beginning because there will be a lot of information on systems, clients and so many other things. But I would also say to anyone new at the company to remember that your colleagues have your back. You can always turn to them for help, answers or advice with any questions or issues you may have.

Looking back on your time at Stone & Bridges, what are you most proud of?

I am most proud of fitting in with the team and, along with all my colleagues, keeping up the high standard of customer service that we deliver together.
